Semifinals of Albanian "Republic Cup"!
We travel back in time, in the edition of 1972 Football of Albanian Republic Cup.
After the first leg of the semifinals, as always in such cases, the question arises which of the 4 teams has the opportunity to advance to the finals, Besa - Dinamo or Vllaznia - Partizani? The problem here is confused by the fact that in the both matches played in Kavaja and Shkodra, the result remained equal, which does not allow to make any predictions, so the verdict would be after the return matches on March 19, 1972.

Kavaja: Besa – Dinamo 0-0
Besa: Feshti, Mullaliu, Hushi, Kapidani, Dyla, Mili, Kashami (Shyti), Pagria, Merhori, Karriqi, Bishtaja

The match
The sports fans of both teams, of course, start to "weigh" the possibility of victory and this is exactly what makes the challenge awaited with great interest. Besa or Dinamo? The teams came out on the field with their usual formations. Dinamo, seeing that the previous matches in the Kavaja field did not go well, started the game with some care. Thus, they tried not to concede a goal from the beginning immediately and developed a strong game, although during this part of the match, Besa had a territorial advantage where as a result there are also 6 corners executed by the locals.
However, nothing seems to work, even though the desire of the Kavaja players to take advantage from the first minutes, has made Besa lose the clarity of the actions when they are in front of the penalty area of the Dinamo. Another flaw of Besa team is placed on Karriqi, the best player they have in the midfield who is able to give the game the right rhythm and clarity, but today is below his usual level. Even the other player Mili, next to him in the middle of the field, performs more the role of destroyer of the other team's actions than that of organizing and supporting his own team. In the face of this situation, Kashami remains completely "paralyzed" on the right wing.
In this way in the first 45 minutes only the left wing works where Bishtaja and Merhori are placed. Dinamo defends well and fights for the first ball giving the opportunity not to allow the local team Besa to become dangerous especially there in front of the penalty area. Maybe it was thought that in the second 45 minutes another game would be watched, but it did not happen after both teams did not give another rhythm to change the match.
Besa created several chances like the one of 33`, 78` and 88`. Dinamo, on the other hand, tried to change the score at 85`, but even these did not change the result of intact nets 0-0. Seeing the great interest of this match from many sports fans, it was very much expected from both teams, a beautiful game with some exciting phases of it. For sure Besa was not at her usual level even she created superiority. Dinamo defended well but the attack was too weak.

Vllaznia: Ndoja, Pasha, Duraj, Lekaj, Rragami, Canga, Kocobashi, Rakiqi, Bizi (Plumbini), Hoxha, C. Ndoja.
Partizani: Muhedini, Seferi, Berisha, Ziu, Cani, Shehu, Xhafa, (Shaqiri), Pano, Balluku, Thaka, Coba.
Referee: Faik Bajrami main international category with sidelines, Shaka and Mina.
The match
Vllaznia vs Partizani, this time in the semifinals of the Republic Cup, failed to create an advantage even minimal against each other, which would help them a little in the return match. Of course one of them will be a finalist, but which one? The team from Shkodra, with full advantage in the first half and with great efforts even after the break, especially in the last twenty minutes, had to win the match.
Even the cases created in the 27th, 41st, 68th and 71st minutes, lost by Kocobashi, Rakiqi, again Kocobashi and Hoxha could not change the result. Partizan attacked more in the wide forehead, with straight balls and in such a field where the wings had to be activated more, since they played very little with them. The middle of the field was under the control of R. Rragami and S. Bizit, where Canga also contributed, performing his task very well, covering the dangerous Panon.
Partizani, since the composition of the team for this game, was noticed to have entered the field just to ensure a draw and with the chosen variant achieved it what they wanted. Moreover, Partizani was the first to take the lead and even led 1-0 until two minutes before the end of the match. The team used the counterattack with Pano and Balluku. However, in the first 45 minutes, the partisans' attack was so weak that the goalkeeper from Shkodra, Ndoja, had nothing to do with the ball. In the continuation of the second 45 minutes, they revived the game more and after scoring the goal, they came down more densely.
Xhafa, in attack came increasing the level of his game, while the most compact part of the team was that of defense. Goals were scored in the second half. In the 6th minute, Uran Xhafa took a long ball from Balluku and despite the efforts of defender Basha to stop his march towards the goal, he cleverly scored, avoiding the exit of goalkeeper Ndoja. Even the equalizer, scored by Vllaznia, came after a ball crossed by Plumbini (who replaced Bizin), Hoxha after owning this ball shot and scored.
